The fact that I was raised Catholic and now live in the Bible Belt has obviously influenced my work. This is the first of my Mother's Advice series. It is a bit rebellious, since Mary is shown teaching Jesus instead of the other way around because I suspect that Mary taught Jesus a thing or two. My interpretation of “Don't throw your pearls to swine” is that ideas should not be shared with people who are not ready to understand them. It is an important life lesson for me.
